There are downloadable lists to help organize emergency kits, forms for creating a personalized emergency plan and hundreds of photographs to help illustrate life saving techniques.
“Our goal is to provide solutions to safety issues at the equestrian facility through quality educational materials,” says company president and veterinarian Dr. Eric De Vos. “As an AAEP member, I support the mission of the AAEP Foundation, ‘to improve the health and welfare of the horse through support of research, education, benevolence, and the equine community’.”
What is the AAEP? The American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP) was founded in 1954 by a group of 11 charter members who saw that together they could direct the focus of equine veterinary medicine. Today, the AAEP, headquartered in Lexington, Kentucky, represents an educated group of men and women who cover a broad range of equine disciplines, breeds and associations. Over 8,000 veterinarians and veterinary students in 57 countries are members of the AAEP.
The AAEP Foundation, Inc., a 501 (c) 3 organization, is the charitable arm of the AAEP, founded in 1994. Like its parent organization, is dedicated to the health and welfare of the horse. The AAEP Foundation draws on the expertise of world-renowned caregivers and researchers in identifying the needs of the equine, and is unequaled in its ability to identify the most critical health concerns facing the equine population. Founded to unite everyone who dedicated to improving horse health and well being, we are a dynamic foundation that is dedicated to delivering relevant research, education and outreach to the equine industry. Join us as we bring our vision of helping horses to life. For more information on the AAEP please visit their website at www.aaep.org.
